Weekly Vibe #125

Welcome to Weekly Vibe #125!! This week was pretty exciting and I did some hosiery shopping this week too!

A few days ago I ordered 2 pairs of tights from G Market or lesser known as Qoo10 it's like a eBay but with much better cheaper deals and many Singaporean shop there and as I was browsing through I came across an add that featured such super stretchy tights as see below!

I ordered these 200 denier ones and it came in about 2 days, though on the label it says size 1 which is actually the smallest, they actually fit well! Oh and I actually suspect that these are the Turkish Penti tights as I have notice photos that other customers have posted up have "Penti" brand printed on their package, I am not too sure why the name have been changed.. anyways here is my 2nd pair

These China-made tights branded Langsha are endorsed by a Taiwanese celebrity Barbie Hsu and these tights are 120 denier very stretchy and comfy as well, in total I spent about $20 SGD which is pretty decent I decided to try asian made tights for once and so far it's fine I feel.

Earlier today me and my living history group member did a special 70th anniversary Victory Day series and here is a sneak peek!

Principal photography and art direction was done by me, I really wanted to do a quality that was worthy of the 70th Anniversary and so far I feel that I have done fine. What do you think?

Weekly Vibe #95

Hi Creative and Fashionable people!

On Sunday me and a couple of my living history friends went for Singapore Toys, Games and Comics Convention or STGCC cosplaying as a WWII era NKVD officer, my friend an SS Officer and another a German Army Field Police.

Okay before I get the flames of being neo-nazi and stuff, we are not politically motivated but historically motivated. Right after the event we went to catch the latest installment of 

Rurouni Kenshin : Kyoto Infernoand boy it was great! I grew up as a teen watching Rurouni Kenshin so it's a total fanboy moment for me watching that movie!

Fashion tights are in the house as it is fashion week in both New York and London! 

Try something new! Looking through the collection that UK Tights have to offer in their updated line of Fashion tights, I think these styles will go well with our men!

As for the younger men these Pierre Mantoux Oyster Tights are great with more coloured outfits

For the senior gentlemen I recommend the Tammy Cotton Tights, patterned by very subtle in black with more conservative looking outfits

Of course if there are other fashion tights that appeal to you, go ahead and experiment with them! Anyways that is how fashion functions really!

Boys and Men Legwear throughout recent history and now!

Hi Creative and Fashionable people!

As I was googling around I found a really interesting Flickriver page that belonged to Karl'sfriend and in it contained a treasure trove of very insightful photos of boys and men in legwear, and no, not the ones you will see from the renaissance but as late as recently and as way back as the early 1900s to 1940s and up to right now!

After seeing these photos, I'm sure anyone would be so convinced that the idea of males wearing tights isn't at all anything new, I mean some children regardless of gender in Russia wears tights for warmth. And the fact that it has been so throughout the times and no one really noticed until suddenly opaque tights became suddenly popular during 2008 for women and we all know suddenly every women started wearing opaques at work, and for fun. Well not to mention, with men started to "re-pick up" the trend again and worst still (in my opinion and not disrespecting Chan Kraemer) calling tights that are made for men "Mantyhose" made it look weird for us guys to wear them again. I mean why call them "Mantyhose"? Look at the 2nd photo, there were simply called Strumpfhose or Pantyhose in German. Whatever the case.. Just match your clothes right and wear your tights!
