Did I say I love tanks? Yes I LOVE TANKS!

Tights was a like a huge staple for me, I had to wear them under my jeans because well it was very cold like somedays were -10 degrees celsius and dipped lower but I still loved it!

Weekly Vibe #197

Happy New Year everyone!

I'm finally settled down but still not used to the high temperatures back in Singapore with noons that go as high as 35 degrees celsius and 100% humidity. :( versus -20 degrees celsius (sometimes colder) in Moscow where I just returned from. Needless to say I missed being Moscow where I enjoy the cold and the snow and just being there! Here are some photos of my holiday!

I couldn't really wear shorts and tights as it was really too cold for me, most days I had to wear 2 pairs of tights under my jeans along with winter shoes but I would still feel cold however it was still bearable. The only time I did tights with shorts was on my way to the airport flying back to Singapore, even so I had 2 pairs on and once I left the car to bring out my baggage I immediately felt the chill and hurried into the airport. That was how cold it was! To be honest I'm really amazed seeing how some women I noticed wore sheer pantyhose in this kind of winter! Well I mean at least they had on coats and knee length boots and showed just their thighs in nylons. I really can't wrap my head around that! However Russian women are truly beautiful! I yearn to return again soon perhaps 2018 World Cup in Russia. :)

Since day 1 I had been looking for Russian made hosiery but I ended up not finding what I wanted. I was looking specifically for Orodoro Microfibra model tights but I couldn't find any! Not even in stores and online! They were simply out of stock! And now that I'm back in Singapore, the online stores don't ship overseas either!

However I didn't leave empty-handed, got myself some Italian made OMSA and Elaslim tights which I will be doing reviews starting in February :)

I recently ordered some customised products from Zazzle.com and one of the products I ordered were a pair of leggings that looked like this

It took really long to arrive to my doorstep, which I believe nothing bad to do with Zazzle but just really bad administration from the local post office. Anyways I really liked how comfortable these sports leggings were, these were made out of cotton and spandex. You will feel warm wearing these and good for cardio activities if you want to keep your legs warmed up for the run however these only provide warmth and no compression. You could alternatively go for 2XU tights or ActivSkin's A866, a cheaper yet very good quality tights. Zazzle doesn't just do customised leggings but also other apparels, mugs, cards and even household items! Check them out if you are interested!

Outfit of the Week #3

Hi Creative and Fashionable people!

Today for OOTW we have this outfit!

This photo was from this Flickriver site(I got no intent of stealing or whatsoever) The caption was this "A young man dressed in high fashion--a leather jacket, short shorts, and black tights. Tights for men and boys are not unusual in urban Russian settings."

Firstly I do really like the look minus the cigarette(bad for your health mate!) This look is pretty androgynous I have to say though and not every men can I say can pull off this look, you do somehow have his kind of legs, I would really recommend those short shorts, but one has thunder thighs, I really recommend against that because it would magnify your size further, instead you could try the same on the top section but pair them with slightly longer black shorts or darker coloured ones. Those boots are pretty nice actually, it certainly does give a biker look which I find pretty cool!

Boys and Men Legwear throughout recent history and now!

Hi Creative and Fashionable people!

As I was googling around I found a really interesting Flickriver page that belonged to Karl'sfriend and in it contained a treasure trove of very insightful photos of boys and men in legwear, and no, not the ones you will see from the renaissance but as late as recently and as way back as the early 1900s to 1940s and up to right now!

After seeing these photos, I'm sure anyone would be so convinced that the idea of males wearing tights isn't at all anything new, I mean some children regardless of gender in Russia wears tights for warmth. And the fact that it has been so throughout the times and no one really noticed until suddenly opaque tights became suddenly popular during 2008 for women and we all know suddenly every women started wearing opaques at work, and for fun. Well not to mention, with men started to "re-pick up" the trend again and worst still (in my opinion and not disrespecting Chan Kraemer) calling tights that are made for men "Mantyhose" made it look weird for us guys to wear them again. I mean why call them "Mantyhose"? Look at the 2nd photo, there were simply called Strumpfhose or Pantyhose in German. Whatever the case.. Just match your clothes right and wear your tights!
