Weekly Vibe #43

Hi Creative & Fashionable people!

Welcome to the 43rd edition of Weekly Vibe! I hope you all had a great week! I had a great Sunday as it was STGCC! Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention! It is a convention held every year, and I went ahead cosplaying a WWII era German Panzer Commander, I was there with a few of my friends and it was really fun! One thing one could notice in a cosplay related event is that you would spotted many outfits worn with hosiery! From knee highs, thigh highs to tights and you see them worn by both genders! 

Most of my time spent there was being a model for people to be photographed! And boy is it tiring to be a model! Hahaha! Oh well I too did snap some shots! Well I wasn't too interested with the other cosplaying girls though... And I really didn't know why.. Just prolly not in the mood for them lol!

Boys and Men Legwear throughout recent history and now!

Hi Creative and Fashionable people!

As I was googling around I found a really interesting Flickriver page that belonged to Karl'sfriend and in it contained a treasure trove of very insightful photos of boys and men in legwear, and no, not the ones you will see from the renaissance but as late as recently and as way back as the early 1900s to 1940s and up to right now!

After seeing these photos, I'm sure anyone would be so convinced that the idea of males wearing tights isn't at all anything new, I mean some children regardless of gender in Russia wears tights for warmth. And the fact that it has been so throughout the times and no one really noticed until suddenly opaque tights became suddenly popular during 2008 for women and we all know suddenly every women started wearing opaques at work, and for fun. Well not to mention, with men started to "re-pick up" the trend again and worst still (in my opinion and not disrespecting Chan Kraemer) calling tights that are made for men "Mantyhose" made it look weird for us guys to wear them again. I mean why call them "Mantyhose"? Look at the 2nd photo, there were simply called Strumpfhose or Pantyhose in German. Whatever the case.. Just match your clothes right and wear your tights!

Customisable Tights!

Hi Creative and Fashionable people!

As I was googling for tattooed patterned tights, I found this online store based in Germany named FunnyLegs. Other than selling hosiery typicall for women, they also have section for men and plus size female ones for men. Funnylegs caught the idea that tights are unisex.. WOW! Most interestingly they also feature a "Design your own printed Leggings and Tights" they have 3 different styles of print, one being an "All-over Print", "Textbanner or Logo" and "Wordcloud" The tights are 70 den, 90% Polyamid and 10% Elasthane, prices start at €19.90 for sizes S to L and L/XL are €20.90

I might try customising my own tights someday!

Vorher Nachher Show & Men's Tights

Hi Creative and Fashionable people!

As I was looking around Youtube, I watched a clip from a German TV show titled Vorher Nachher Show(which was probably shot in the 80s or the 90s?) It featured a portion of a man wearing tights! Most interestingly, the guest whom they invited was himself wearing tights under his suit pants! Wow!

Seems like the notion of men wearing tights is something that has been perceived decades ago! Not looking at the renaissance of course! Haha!
